Previously unreleased and recorded in 2021 - during the sessions that produced 2022's Under A Winter's Moon - Loreena McKennitt's other-worldly performance of this popular hymn to global peace is accompanied by cellist Caroline Lavelle and describes the stillness and wonder of Christmas via its uniquely ethereal soundscape.
This limited edition Silent Night 7" single is exclusively available from Loreena's official - Burning Shed hosted - store and features the two encore tracks not included as part of the original Under A Winter's Moon release.
The B-Side, The King, is a traditional, rustic English song celebrating the new year and sung here by the whole company in wassail style accompanied by Loreena on the accordion.
Among the performers is Cedric Smith who appeared on Loreena's debut recording Elemental and her studio recording of The King from 1987's To Drive The Cold Winter Away.
Presented in a full-colour picture sleeve.
