"This music will take you on a dance through Ireland, from the heathery mountains of Donegal to the rugged coast of County Clare, from pub to pub, from song to song, led by the Mummers in their ancient masks and their sense of fun and mystery.

 

What emerges for me in this music and in my many travels through Ireland, is the invincible spirit I found there. The rich Irish imagination spills out into everything: the wordsmithing, the music, the landscape. The Celtic tradition of weaving nature and spirituality together, their worship of trees, their beliefs in reincarnation—all echo through these songs.
