Burning Shed is an online label and store specialising in Singer-Songwriter, Progressive, Ambient/Electronica and Art Rock music
Established in 2001 by Tim Bowness , Peter Chilvers and Pete Morgan, the company is now run by co-directors Tim Bowness and Pete Morgan.
Burning Shed hosts the official online shops for Porcupine Tree, Panegyric (King Crimson), Kscope, Ape (Andy Partridge/XTC), No-Man, Jethro Tull, Thomas Dolby, Medium Productions (Jansen, Barbieri and Karn), Peaceville and Hatfield and the North, amongst others.
All rights remain with the artists and the aim is for more profits to go directly to artists than with sales generated elsewhere.
Primarily known for his work as part of the band No-Man, a long-term project with Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson, since 1993 Tim has recorded and performed with an eclectic range of musicians including David Torn, Robert Fripp, Alice, Richard Barbieri, Roger Eno and Hugh Hopper.
In addition to producing a number of primarily ambient solo albums, Peter has collaborated extensively with vocalists Tim Bowness and Sandra O'Neill and contributed 'space bass' to No-Man's Together We're Stranger. In 2006, he began working with Brian Eno on the soundtrack to Spore, and they have since released Bloom, a generative music application for the iPhone.
Pete Morgan runs Noisebox Digital Media Ltd, a CD/DVD duplication company. Since 1992 he has written electronic/ambient music under the name UXB and has played bass/keyboards in a variety of other projects since the early 1980s (including Real Universal and Tim Bowness' live band).
