Loreena McKennitt's debut recording (and her Quinlan Road's label’s inaugural release), Elemental represented the artist's first foray into the realm of Celtic music.

 

Recorded in one week in July 1985 in a barn in southern Ontario amongst a field of sunflowers, like all her subsequent recordings, the album was self-produced.

 

Remastered for vinyl (for the first time) by Jeff Wolpert in 2015, Elemental was initially released in this format in a global limited edition of just 5000 copies pressed on 180g vinyl at the Record Industry plant in the Netherlands.

 

Also produced at Record Industry, this 2024 limited edition is pressed on 140g vintage transparent green vinyl.
