The cult classic returns, remastered and pressed on vinyl for the first time in decades.
Pinball (1974) marked the debut of actor-turned-singer-songwriter Brian Protheroe. Fusing baroque pop, soft rock, and the wry introspection of early 1970s singer-songwriters, the album earned critical acclaim and cult devotion, largely on the strength of its title track - the haunting, theatrical ballad Pinball (a UK Top 30 hit that remains one of the decade’s most singular singles).
This definitive reissue has been meticulously remastered from the original tapes, bringing new depth and warmth to Protheroe’s rich arrangements and velvet vocals. A lush, cinematic mix of strings, woodwinds, piano, and understated rock instrumentation, Pinball is a treat for fans of Scott Walker, Harry Nilsson and Al Stewart.
Remastered and cut from the original tapes by Miles Showell at Abbey Road.
