---------
Released in 2015, Polaris marked a quiet shift for TesseracT - their third album, their first with Kscope, and the return of original vocalist Daniel Tompkins. His presence brought focus. Instead of chasing scale, the band explored contrast: dense grooves set against clean vocals, sharp turns softened by space and melody. Tracks like “Tourniquet” and “Phoenix” ease into motion, while “Messenger” hits harder but with restraint. Polaris builds tension not by force, but by control.
“Polaris is affecting, captivating and bloody gorgeous.” - Metal Hammer
Where earlier work had often felt dense and confrontational, Polaris moved differently. The band played with negative space, letting ideas breathe without softening their weight. Heaviness didn’t disappear - it found new shape. The result is measured but tense, detailed without feeling overworked. “Hexes” and “Seven Names” don’t rush; they take their time, leaning on tone and pacing instead of sheer technical display. Even at its most complex, Polaris never feels crowded.
“Polaris is pure confidence converted into sound.” - Classic Rock
