Based on the classic novel by James Joyce, Tangerine Dream’s Finnegans Wake is as mystifying as the work that inspires it. Originally released in 2011,
Across the 8 tracks on Finnegans Wake, Tangerine Dream weave a tapestry of sound that mirrors the intricate and enigmatic narrative of Joyce’s novel. The album’s layered textures and sparse use of vocals amongst electronic instrumentation transports listeners into a world of dreamlike ambiguity. Finnegans Wake follows The Island of Fay and The Angel of the West Window as the third release in Tangerine Dream’s Sonic Poem series.
Founded by the late Edgar Froese in 1967, Tangerine Dream’s illustrious career has ventured into numerous avenues, composing soundtracks for some of the biggest movies, games and television shows of the past 50 years and picking up seven Grammy nominations along the way.
