smalltape Tangram CD Philipp_Nespital
Tangram marks the most ambitious work to date by Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Philipp Nespital. Once again, Philipp takes full creative control over composition, recording, production and mixing - supported by a selection of outstanding guest musicians, including Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief).

Musically, the album represents a significant evolution: blending the characteristic smalltape sound with new stylistic directions - a richly layered sonic journey full of energy, atmosphere and magical moments.

CD in digipak incl. 20-page booklet

The album title refers to the ancient Chinese puzzle of the same name, in which seven simple geometric shapes can be combined into countless complex figures.
"The idea came to me while writing Tesselate. The song explores how the fragments of our life stories continuously rearrange themselves – like a mosaic, or a tangram. I liked the analogy to the album itself, which also consists of seven rather different pieces (including the three-part No Time) that ultimately come together as a cohesive whole."
1. No Time (I) (0:47)
2. Goodbye (8:09)
3. Second Chance (5:06)
4. Not Time (II) (4:21)
5. Phoenix (5:22)
6. Selene (8:15)
7. No Time (III) (6:38)
8. Gold Digger (2:25)
9. Tesselate (9:36)
