Anam Cara is the eleventh studio album from piano and keyboard virtuoso, Oliver Wakeman.
Beginning life prior to his joining Yes, the pressures of touring and recording meant the song ideas and snippets had to be held back for the right moment. Finally, in 2023, Oliver found time to bring the project to fruition.
Anam Cara features a stellar collection of musicians who contribute to a multitude of musical styles. Guests include Hayley Griffiths, Troy Donockley (Nightwish), Oliver Day and Scott Higham (Pendragon).
The album - which boasts an intriguing mix of Celtic rock and progressive tendencies, beautiful ballads and epic excursions - was mixed by Karl Groom (Threshold) and recorded by John Mitchell (Lonely Robot). The artwork is by world renowned artist Anne Sudworth.
