Jah Wobble teams up with his sons John T and Charlie on a deeply personal re-imagining of The Beatles’ psychedelic output.

 

Featuring Wobble’s signature dub bass, alongside John T’s drums, Chinese percussion and yangqin, and Charlie’s erhu and vocals, the Liverpool connection runs through the family itself. The boys’ mother, Zi Lan Liao, grew up in the city and it’s where her father established the Pagoda Chinese Youth Orchestra (in which John T and Charlie were soloists).

 

Mystic Liverpool is psychedelic in the truest sense, a mystical journey into songs that have always pointed east, now heard through a family that lives between those worlds.
