A collaboration between composer/synthesist Daniel Biro and virtuoso flautist Sara Minelli, the eight part suite The Difficulty of Being mixes ambient layered solo flute soundscapes with electronic synth manipulations.

 

Blurring the line between repetition and transformation, the music recalls the work of early Steve Reich and Jon Hassell (to whom one of the pieces is dedicated). Spontaneous encounters evolve from acoustic origins into expansive electronic horizons.
