Blodwyn Pig formed following guitarist Mick Abrahams’ departure from Jethro Tull. Also featuring Jack Lancaster (saxophones, flute & violin), Andy Pyle (bass, vocals) and Ron Berg (drums), Blodwyn Pig fused jazz elements with blues and rock, swiftly becoming one of the most popular bands on the UK underground circuit.
Their two studio albums Ahead Rings Out (1969) and Getting To This (1970) were both top ten hits. This collection gathers together all the albums and singles recorded by Blodwyn Pig for Chrysalis Records in 1969 and 1970, plus all the surviving sessions in the BBC archives recorded by the band between 1969 and 1974.
