Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's short story, The Island of the Fay marks the inaugural entry in Tangerine Dream's renowned Eastgate Sonic Poems Series. Composed by band founder Edgar Froese and his successor Thorsten Quaeschning, the album offers an evocative interpretation of Poe's haunting narrative.
Recorded at the band’s Eastgate Studio in Vienna, the album marked the debut of violinist Hoshiko Yamane as an official member of the band.
