Keith Emerson and Greg Lake planned to re-form ELP in 1984. Due to Carl Palmer being unavailable, the legendary Cozy Powell (Rainbow / Whitesnake) stepped in as drummer.

 

Included in this 3CD boxset is the trio’s acclaimed self-titled studio release (with epics aplenty and 3 bonus tracks), Live in Concert, and The Sprocket Sessions, a CD of rehearsals (previously released as a bootleg).

 

All recordings have been remastered by Andy Pearce.

 

The collection includes sleeve notes by Jerry Ewing (Prog), who takes a forensic look at the band’s short but important history.
