In 2001, a group of David Bowie insiders created a private CD of cover versions of Bowie songs that had appeared on Pickwick Records’ Top Of The Pops budget albums between 1972 and 1980. Called Top Of The Fops and featuring a picture of a lookalike lifted from a 1970s teen mag, Bowie - we’re reliably informed - loved it.

A fascinating document, The Top Of The Poppers Sing And Play The Hits Of David Bowie gathers together the nine cover versions on vinyl for the very first time.
