A 2016 repress of the 2004 Lemon label CD.
Originally released in 1974, The Golden Scarab was Ray Manzarek's first solo album.
Featuring a 1970s supergroup of guests (Larry Carlton and Joe Walsh on guitars, Tony Williams on drums, Patti Smith, Flo & Eddie and more), the album's eight tracks flirt with Doors-esque grooves and mystery as well as Fusion and Funk influences.
'The best embodiment of the Doors by one of the three surviving members. Amazing it wasn't a huge underground smash.' - All Music
