“Fourteen years after Mansun’s end, the band's singer maintains his sense of grandeur, now in the 1980s dept. of studio-buffed über-pop” MOJO
As the frontman and songwriter of one of the most iconic bands of the late 1990s, the creative force that brought the classic hit single "Wide Open Space" and the Number 1 album Attack Of The Grey Lantern with Mansun, and now more recently as a solo artist with his top 20 charting album Spooky Action, Paul Draper's talent precedes him.
Featuring two of the fan favourites from Spooky Action, this 7" single has been pressed on to silver coloured vinyl.
The razor-edged guitar prowl of Grey House recalls the experimental pop of Mansun at its very best, and the seductive 1980s synth-pop groove of Who's Wearing The Trousers on the B-side has been given an exclusive new edit by long-time Mansun collaborator PDub.
Press for Spooky Action:
“A growling electro-rock odyssey built on a grand scale. This has an impressive heft.” 8/10 UNCUT
“Spooky Action is as dense and detailed as his former band’s best known work.” Line of Best Fit
“Unapologetic for its prog heart and full of honest pop songwriting with big melodies and intricate sounds.” 8/10 Louder Than War
"Spooky Action arouses a lot of nostalgic feelings but sounds absolutely modern and groundbreaking." 5/5 Laut.de
