Popartery (Book pre-order)

A deluxe 122 page book collecting 56 unique paintings by Andy Partridge that offer visual interpretations of XTC songs.
 
Every painting comes with Andy’s personal observations and comments.
 
Printed on high quality 200gsm paper and issued as a limited edition of 2000 hardcover books with a linen finish, Popartery is exclusively available from the Burning Shed hosted APE store.
 
Each copy includes a numbered bookplate, signed by Andy Partridge. The book also includes an intro by AP and an outro by fellow artist and collaborator, Andrew Swainson.

XTC

The Big Express (CD/Blu-Ray pre-order)

The Big Express (1984) is the seventh in a series of expanded XTC album reissues, including 5.1 Surround mixes, Dolby Atmos (for the first time with an XTC album), 2023 stereo mixes and High-Resolution stereo mixes by Steven Wilson, along with a wealth of extra audio and visual material. 
 
A neglected classic of its era, the album creatively fused the band's immense songwriting gifts with the technology of the day.

Bruce Soord

Luminescence (Various Formats pre-order)

Bruce Soord’s 2023 studio album Luminescence is available in a variety of formats, including CD, LP, limited blue vinyl and a 2CD/DVD, 48 page Deluxe Hardback Book edition featuring an exclusive bonus album.
 
Each purchase comes with a postcard and free entry into a draw to win a test pressing LP with a hand-written lyric sheet.
 
Inspired by the idea of finding inner peace, Luminescence explores the difficulty of living in the maelstrom of the modern world. Born from days exploring various cities whilst on tour, tracks from the album feature recordings from Soord’s wanderings captured on a field recorder. 
 
Recorded between January and June of 2023 at Soord Studios, additional strings were recorded at RAK Studio 3 in London (arranged and conducted by Andrew Skeet, a long-time member of The Divine Comedy and orchestrator on many films/tv shows, from Netflix’s smash hit Black Mirror to David Attenborough’s Green Planet).
 
Mastered by The Pineapple Thief’s Steve Kitch, the artwork is by Carl Glover.

The Who

Who’s Next 50th Anniversary Editions (Various Formats pre-order)

The Super Deluxe (10cd/blu-ray) 50th Anniversary edition of Who’s Next, considered by many to be The Who’s greatest album.
 
The set contains 10 CDs remastered from the original tapes by Jon Astley, plus a blu-ray audio disc with newly-created Atmos and 5.1 surround mixes of Who's Next and 14 bonus tracks by Steven Wilson. 


 
Highlights of the 155-track collection include Pete Townshend’s demos for Life House; The Who's 1971 session recordings at the Record Plant in New York; sessions at Olympic Studios in southwest London from 1970-1972; and, for the first time, two newly mixed and complete 1971 concerts from London’s Young Vic Theatre and San Francisco’s Civic Auditorium.   
 
The set also includes a book, a graphic novel, photos and much more.
 
Who's Next is also available on CD, Double CD, LP, limited coke bottle green vinyl and other formats.

Following the success of Rob Gould plays Pawn Hearts, Rob covers another of his all-time favourite albums in his own inimitable way.

Retreat From Moscow

Dreams, Myths and Machines (CD pre-order)

Dreams, Myths and Machines follows Retreat From Moscow's critically acclaimed debut The World As We Knew It, and draws on themes of Welsh and Greek mythology, dystopian futures, social anxiety and colonial whitewashing. 
 
The album was forged over the past three years by band members John Harris (guitar, vocals, keyboards and flute) Andrew Raymond (keyboards) Tony Lewis (bass) and Greg Haver (drums and percussion), along with special guests, Robin Armstrong (Cosmograf), Andy Tillison (The Tangent), Pete Kirby (Skylines) and American vocalist Jillian Slade.

This Shining Night - The Concert (E-ticket)

Following last year's triumphal anniversary event, the acclaimed UK ‘intelligent pop’ duo return to Kings Place for a special one-off concert on Saturday August 5th 2023 (doors, 7pm).
 
Dave Stewart (keyboards) and Barbara Gaskin (vocals) will be joined by guitarist Beren Matthews, performing a fresh selection of Stewart / Gaskin songs dating from 1981 to the present day, including new unreleased material and some old favourites.
 
Situated in Kings Cross, central London, Kings Place is an award-winning multi-arts venue. Though comfortably spacious, its main auditorium Hall One retains an intimate atmosphere, featuring a world-class sound system, superb acoustics and excellent sound and sight-lines from every seat in the house. The concert will be all seated, with provision for wheelchair users.
 
Tickets for this rare one-off UK appearance are likely to sell quickly, so early booking is advisable.
